EVENT: Scottish Model United Nations (12th Edition)

Date: 12-13.07.2024

Our school held its second Inter-school Model United Nations (MUN), featuring 273 students from 26 Mumbai schools. Committee heads conducted orientations and a Mock MUN session for newcomers. The International Press and Photography teams created newsletters, while Grades 9 and 10 students developed the SMUN website. The Public Relations team managed the SMUN Powai Instagram page. Alumni and Grade 10 students chaired committees, with top MUNers from Grades 9 and 10 as deputies and moderators. The Head of International Press, welcomed attendees, followed by an address from the Secretary-General while the Head of Logistics, outlined conference rules before the Secretary-General inaugurated the event. Delegates engaged in debates and discussions, culminating in a closing ceremony with feedback, accolades, and awards presented by our Principal Ms. J Kotian.

Partnered with NDTV, Disney HD, Crossword Book Store, and AWS, the fair aimed to provide students with a platform to write, publish, and promote their books.

Bombay Scottish School, Powai, received the prestigious 'National Literary Leadership Award' for its exceptional contribution. Among its stars is Swasti Singh, who earned multiple accolades including the National Author's Certificate and a rank of 180 out of 200. Her success reflects not only individual achievement but also the school's commitment to fostering a culture of writing.

The fair left a profound impact on students, empowering them to unleash their storytelling abilities. Each book sold represents a promising future for these young authors.
