The Annual Christmas Concert featured a rich array of performances, from the grand presentation by the Scottish Chorale, the school choir, and Grade 3’s enchanting Christmas play A Lantern in the Snow, to magnificent performances by students of Grades 3 to 10, culminating in a dazzling finale by Grade 10.

Titled Rashtragatha: The Journey to Becoming Bharat, the concert traced India’s civilisational journey through dance, music, and drama, highlighting themes of culture, unity, governance, and resilience. The event inspired a deep sense of pride among the audience as the school celebrated both the spirit of Christmas and the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

The programme was a heartwarming celebration that beautifully honoured the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. It featured a delightful blend of spiritual songs and American folk classics, confidently and enthusiastically presented by the young performers, creating an atmosphere filled with joy, rhythm, and nostalgia. Following the musical performances, grandparents spent quality time in their grandchildren’s classrooms, actively participating in games and interactive activities. Each child presented a handmade card as a heartfelt token of love and appreciation, while refreshments added to the warmth of the occasion. The celebration concluded on a joyful note with grandparents and grandchildren capturing memorable moments together at the photo booths.

The exciting and memorable outing offered children a valuable play-based learning experience. They actively participated in a variety of activity zones, including trampolines, ball pits, motor play areas, arcade games and imaginative pretend-play rooms such as the supermarket, princess room, and farmland. These activities promoted creative thinking, role play, problem-solving skills, physical coordination and teamwork. The visit also supported social development, as children interacted, shared and collaborated with their peers in a positive and engaging environment. Overall, the picnic successfully combined recreation with learning, serving as a meaningful extension of classroom experiences, leaving students with lasting joyful memories.

The day trip was a delightful and enriching experience that combined fun, movement and learning through play. The children enthusiastically explored colourful play zones such as ball pools, trampolines, organic seed pits, and role-play areas, which helped develop gross motor skills, coordination, imagination, and social interaction. The thoughtfully designed environment encouraged learning through exploration, cooperation and joyful engagement. The picnic further provided opportunities for children to build confidence, independence and peer bonding in a safe and stimulating setting. Students visited the Centre for the Ageing Blind, where they interacted with the residents and purchased handmade artefacts. At Della, they enjoyed a variety of outdoor adventures such as zip lining, rappelling, horse riding, land zorbing, bubble soccer, rocket ejector, and dog walk, along with indoor games like hard ball net cricket, chess, air hockey, and virtual racing cars. After an exciting day, they proceeded to the 7 Apple Resort, where the day concluded with a lively DJ night. The second day included a visit to Mapro Garden, followed by lunch at the resort. The students returned safely with cherished memories.

The visit to Imagica proved to be a fun-filled and thrilling experience, with students enjoying a variety of exhilarating roller coasters, rides, and creative activities that brought out their adventurous spirit. They also witnessed a spectacular parade performed by the dedicated staff of the amusement park. The stay at Monteria Resort was equally memorable, with a lively DJ night where students danced joyfully to classic Bollywood songs. On the second day, students participated in a range of indoor and outdoor activities at the resort. Students returned to school with cherished memories of an enriching and enjoyable trip.

The two-day trip took Grade 10 students to Magic Mountain, Lonavala, where they enjoyed thrilling rides such as the Scream Machine, Giant Frisbee, Sky Screamer, Space Trainer, Turbo Force, and Flipping Arm Action. They stayed at 7Apples Resort with varied dining options. On the second day, students visited the Trick Illusion Museum and Mapro Factory, returning to school with memorable experiences.

The excursion began with a tour of Saguna Baug, where students explored farming, honeybee and pearl cultivation, boating, fishing, and enjoyed a Malkhamb performance. After a magic show and high tea, they travelled to Pinewood Resort, Karjat, ending the day with a DJ night and campfire. On the second day, students took part in adventure activities like archery, rock climbing, and the Burma bridge, along with indoor and outdoor games, before concluding a memorable trip.

After a brief orientation, students participated in team events such as paintball and sumo wrestling that promoted cooperation and teamwork. The park offered a wide range of adventure activities, including Log Mines, Cross Logs, Commando Crawl, and the V Ladder, along with zigzag walks, swinging bridges, and target shooting. A special section was available for younger participants, featuring tyre walls, bamboo ladders, V mazes, and tree-top challenges like flying logs and swinging loops. The visit proved to be an enjoyable, enriching, and memorable experience for all the students.

The United Basel Mission Church, Mumbai’s Balawadi initiative, which supports the education of the little children of Appapada, Malad, received a donation of ₹12,670 raised by the students of Grade 10 through a canteen organised as part of a community service initiative. The activity fostered a strong sense of social responsibility, cooperation and empathy among the students, reinforcing the importance of giving back to the community.

An inspiring assembly was presented to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Students dressed as notable women scientists—Marie Curie, Katherine Johnson, Jane Goodall, and Dr. Kalpana Chawla—and shared their achievements and contributions. The presentation highlighted the challenges these women overcame and how they broke barriers in their fields. The celebration began with a prayer by the SAC followed by an inspiring message from the Principal. For Grades 1 to 10, Frexpressions, organised by the Grade 10 Student Council, provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their talents across categories such as Literary, Fusion Forum, Performing Arts, Artistic Alley, and Press Corps. A student-created newsletter captured the highlights of the day. Theme: Light of the World

Students explored what it means to be the Light of the World in times of darkness, injustice, and personal struggles. Daily sessions included interactive icebreakers, energisers, impactful songs, and multimedia-based lessons. Concepts were taught through PowerPoint presentations, videos, song narrations, and short skits. Students engaged actively and reflected meaningfully at the end of each day. The week offered a spiritually enriching and purposeful learning experience.

Students presented a recorded assembly featuring a mock parliamentary session where ministers discussed clean energy proposals—solar power, hydrogen transport, ethanol fuel, and smart grids. Housing society members shared practical conservation ideas, and an expert interview explained the importance of individual, corporate, and government action. The assembly ended with the message that clean energy is a shared responsibility.

The Annual Athletic Meet for Seniors was held on 7th November 2025 at Wing’s Arenas. The Chief Guest, Colonel Krishna Kumari, declared the event open and encouraged students to value discipline and hard work. She lit the Scottish cauldron using a torch handed to her by student athletes Pranay Jain, Gaurang Bhandari, Ciona Biju, and Anya Sarangi.

The event featured many highlights. The March Past, led by the student council, students of Grades 8–10, and the school band, gave the programme a strong start. The traditional Lezim dance by Grades 5–7 added a cultural touch, while the pyramid formations by Grade 10 showcased teamwork and strength. The track events, the crowning glory of the day, thrilled everyone. The Parents’ Race brought extra excitement and joy. Alumni also joined in, participating in a spirited tug of war with current students.

The Chief Guest and the Principal, Ms. J. Kotian, presented medals and certificates to the winners. The closing ceremony included the retreat of the school flag, band beats, the announcement of the sports championship, and a final March Past by the Student Council. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. E. Selvaraj, Senior Academic Coordinator, followed by the National Anthem.

The cheers, energy, and enthusiasm of the day will continue to inspire students to strive for excellence both on and off the field.

SDG 11: The Last Greenprint

Students created an 11-minute video set in the year 2070, where survivors rediscover a time capsule about sustainable cities. Inspired, they pledge to rebuild with innovation and compassion. The project helped students learn skills such as scriptwriting, video editing, acting, teamwork, leadership, and environmental awareness. Almost the entire class participated.

World Environment Day

Students from Grades 6 to 10 took part in an innovation challenge centred on Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Swadeshi, Vocal for Local, and Samriddh Bharat. The event aimed to build a culture of innovation by encouraging students to identify local problems and create practical, prototype-based solutions. On 13th October, during a live two-hour session, around 180 students brainstormed, selected problems, and designed solutions. Each student completed an online course to support their learning. Teams then created a 3–5 minute video explaining their problem and prototype, which was submitted on the portal by 31st October 2025. The event saw enthusiastic participation and strong creative engagement from all teams.

Students from Grades 1 to 10 participated in engaging Marathi language activities aimed at strengthening core skills. Grade 1 practiced letter recognition through sand writing, while Grade 2 formed matra-based words to improve accuracy. Grade 3 wrote their names in Marathi, and Grade 4 worked on जोडाक्षरे. Grade 5 created environmental slogans, Grade 6 used adjectives for self-description, and Grade 7 enhanced fluency through news reading. Grade 8 focused on advanced comprehension tasks. Grades 9 and 10 completed video comprehension activities—Grade 9 on Sachin Tendulkar – The Great Cricket Player and Grade 10 on Mahatma Gandhi. Collectively, these activities enhanced language skills, deepened understanding, and promoted meaningful learning across all grades.

GANDHI JAYANTI

Gandhi Jayanti was meaningfully observed across all grades through activities that highlighted Mahatma Gandhi’s life, values, and enduring message.

In KG, the theme ‘Hands for Peace’ introduced children to Gandhiji’s ideals through simple, engaging crafts. Jr KG created peace doves, while Sr KG made miniature charkhas and explored handloom fabric, connecting to the Swadeshi Movement and the values of harmony and self-reliance.

Students in Grades 1 & 2 watched a presentation and video about Gandhiji’s childhood, focusing on the themes of honesty and truthfulness. They reflected on his example and responded enthusiastically to follow-up questions.

In Grades 3–5, students listened to passages on Gandhiji’s values of peace, truth, and non-violence. Grades 3 and 4 participated in a quiz and discussion to reinforce learning, while Grade 5 read an extract from My Experiments with Truth, reflecting on how honesty and courage can guide their own lives.

Grades 6–10 read selected extracts from My Experiments with Truth and engaged in discussions on Gandhiji’s principles and their relevance today.

Across all levels, the observance encouraged reflection, inspired meaningful conversations, and helped students appreciate Gandhiji’s message of truth, peace, and moral strength.

Venue: Decathlon, King Burger, and the Fire Station

Grade 1&2 students went on an exciting field trip to Decathlon, King Burger, and the Fire Station. At Decathlon, they explored various sports equipment and learned about playing safely. At King Burger, they saw how food is prepared hygienically in the kitchen. At the Fire Station, firefighters explained their duties and showed the children fire trucks, hoses, and safety gear. The trip was fun, informative, and helped students understand sports, food safety, and community helpers. Students thanked the staff at all three places for a memorable visit.

Students of Grades 6 to 10 attended Sargam, a symphonic band concert performed by the talented musicians of the Indian Navy. The band impressed the audience with their excellent coordination, discipline, and musical skill.

A special highlight was an Italian piece titled ‘Love Concert’, traditionally played at a musician’s wedding, which captivated everyone with its beautiful melody. The event was both enjoyable and inspiring, giving students a glimpse of how naval personnel balance their artistic talents while proudly serving the nation.

Students from Grades 6 to 10 visited the Naval Dockyard as part of the Navy Week celebrations, offering them valuable exposure to India’s maritime defence systems. They toured INS Tamal, where naval officers explained the ship’s structure, control room operations, navigation and communication systems, and key weapon mechanisms. The visit gave students real-life insight into the discipline, teamwork, and advanced technology that drive the Indian Navy. It proved to be an inspiring and informative experience that deepened their respect for the armed forces and enriched their learning beyond the classroom.

Neva Maria Albert authored ‘The Journey to the Ghost Town’, ranked 2nd in the Jury Award category in Maharashtra at the National Young Authors’ Fair 2025. The interactive session inspired students to pursue knowledge with curiosity and passion.

A comprehensive workshop titled “Understanding Growth and Puberty” was held for Grades 5 and 6 in the school auditorium. Its main purpose was to teach students about the physical and emotional changes that happen during puberty and to guide them on personal hygiene and self-care.

The session was conducted by Dr Rohit Barnabas, an endocrinologist from Fortis Hospital, Mulund. He spoke about the importance of good health during the growing years, such as sleeping on time, eating balanced meals, and not overeating. He also discussed the increasing issue of childhood obesity and encouraged students to stay active and exercise regularly.

The workshop was interactive and helped students understand how small daily habits can improve their growth and overall well-being. It also reduced the stigma around puberty, built their confidence, and provided practical tips for taking care of themselves.

Students of Grades 9 and 10 attended a session titled Growing Right: Building Healthy Habits for Life organised by Hiranandani Hospital. The seminar was conducted by Dr Sweta Budyal, an Endocrinologist from Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Mumbai. She discussed healthy eating habits, the causes and effects of obesity, and its impact on adolescent health. She also shared simple and practical strategies to stay active and make better food choices. The session helped students become more aware of the importance of balancing diet, exercise, and lifestyle during adolescence.

The ICSE Grade 10 students attended an Economics Interactive Workshop at Maneckji Cooper Educational Trust, Juhu, as part of the Nobel Prize Outreach Programme. The session was conducted by Nobel Laureate Prof. James Robinson, who explained how state institutions work and how they can include or exclude people. He also spoke about the link between democracy and a country’s GDP, the growth of Western institutions, and why some countries are more prosperous because of their long-standing systems and culture.

Prof. Robinson stressed that real development happens when countries create institutions that fit their own social and political needs, instead of copying ideas from richer nations. He shared examples from Africa and China to show how local traditions shape institutions.

The workshop ended with a Q&A session, and students left inspired by his clear and engaging talk.

Students from Grades 3 to 10 presented a series of meaningful and engaging assemblies on important themes related to environment, digital wellbeing, values, and the Sustainable Development Goals. THE ANNUAL SCOTTISH STARBUDS CONCERT

Theme: The Pied Piper of Hamelin (A Modern Retelling Of A Classic Tale) The concert was a spectacular showcase of talent, creativity, and teamwork. The programme began with a mesmerising performance by the Scottish Chorale, who paid a soulful tribute to Michael Jackson, setting the perfect tone for the event. Following a grand opening address by the School Vice Captain, the stage came alive with captivating performances by students from KG to Grade 2. Their eloquence, confidence, and expressive dance moves brought immense joy and excitement to the audience. Students beautifully conveyed the importance of honesty, truthfulness, and keeping one’s word through the timeless tale of The Pied Piper of Hamelin. The production received widespread praise for its engaging storyline, well-delivered dialogues, talented narrators and actors, lively music, and stunning costumes. Overall, the concert was a resounding success, inspiring the audience with pride for the young performers who brought this magical story to life.

The Teachers’ Day picnic was held at the scenic Lake Side Boheminn, surrounded by lush greenery and natural beauty. Teachers enjoyed a refreshing day by the lake and waterfall, followed by fun pool activities and delicious food. The afternoon turned musical with a lively singing session filled with laughter and camaraderie. The picnic offered a perfect opportunity for teachers to relax, bond, and celebrate the spirit of Teachers’ Day in a joyful and rejuvenating setting.

A total of 114 students and 10 teachers embarked on an exciting four-day educational trip to Chennai and Pondicherry.

In Pondicherry, the group visited prominent landmarks such as Auroville, the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Gandhi Statue, the French War Memorial, and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, enriching their understanding of the region’s cultural and historical significance.

The journey continued to Mahabalipuram (Chennai), where students explored the Crocodile Park, Shore Temple, Pancha Rathas, and the Shell Museum. These visits offered valuable insights into ancient Indian architecture, heritage, and biodiversity.

The trip was filled with learning, excitement, and camaraderie. Students returned with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for India’s rich cultural tapestry.

SUGAR BOARD

Date: August 2025

In response to the directive issued by the NCPCR regarding the rising concern of excessive sugar intake among children, our school has actively implemented Sugar Boards and integrated awareness initiatives into the health and nutrition framework. The boards are designed to be student-friendly and use visuals to aid understanding and retention. Classroom activities and talks have further enhanced pupils’ awareness of sugar content in food.

In keeping with this commitment, the school has also introduced a no-sweets policy for birthday celebrations. From September 1st, students will not be permitted to distribute sweets, chocolates, or food items on their birthdays, in line with our efforts to promote healthier choices, avoid allergies, and maintain uniformity. Instead, children may share small, non-food tokens such as stationery, puzzles, or books, ensuring a more meaningful and inclusive celebration. A similar approach was taken on Independence Day, when students were gifted tri-colour pencils in place of sweets, reinforcing the value of thoughtful and health-conscious alternatives.

Together, these measures strengthen our goal of fostering informed dietary habits and encouraging long-term health and well-being. We remain committed to deepening these efforts in collaboration with health professionals and other stakeholders.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Bombay Scottish School, Powai, celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour, creativity, and thoughtful reflection across all grades.

In Jr KG, the theme Fly High introduced children to the tricolour, national symbols, and community helpers through stories and art. Sr KG students explored Dip-Dot-Dazzle, a fun earbud painting activity, and participated in a quiz on national symbols.

Grades 1 and 2 learned about key freedom fighters through visuals and discussion, followed by a ‘Show & Tell’ activity on the Armed Forces. Dressed in traditional attire, they celebrated the day with pride and enthusiasm.

In Grades 3 to 5, students expressed their patriotism through language and creativity. Grade 3 participated in a patriotic recitation, sharing poems or quotes by freedom fighters in Hindi, Marathi, or their mother tongue, celebrating India’s cultural diversity. Grade 4 took part in Voices of Freedom, Echoes of Hope, a heartfelt poem recitation that reflected their admiration for the nation and its heroes. Grade 5 imagined themselves as part of the freedom struggle in a writing activity titled If I Were a Freedom Fighter, demonstrating courage, empathy, and a deep connection to the spirit of independence.

Grades 6 to 8 expressed patriotism through poems, essays, and stories on India’s cultural richness. Grade 9 created a Time Capsule, writing letters to future India and adding symbolic items like the Constitution’s Preamble and local news clippings.

Grade 10 reimagined freedom in 2047 through a group project exploring themes like digital rights, environmental sustainability, social justice, and educational equity.

From foundational learning to future-forward thinking, the celebrations inspired students to honour India’s journey and dream boldly for its future.

THE SCOTTISH SYMPHONY 2025

Theme: Movie Magic

The third edition of The Scottish Symphony, hosted by Bombay Scottish School, Powai, transformed the campus into a stage of symphonic wonder. With the theme Movie Magic, 18 schools from across Maharashtra breathed life into iconic songs from beloved musicals, blending choral harmony with theatrical storytelling, choreography, and stunning visual presentation.

The Bombay Scottish School Choir delivered a soulful medley from Hercules and Wicked, setting the tone for a day of exceptional performances. After a dazzling display of talent, The Bishop’s School, Camp, emerged victorious with their electrifying rendition of Greased Lightning. St Mary’s, Pune, was awarded First Runners-up for A Million Dreams, while The Bishop’s Co-Education School, Undri, secured Second Runners-up with I Will Follow Him.

The event concluded on a high note, reaffirming The Scottish Symphony as a premier platform for choral music in schools.

The event began with the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer. The outgoing Vice Captain welcomed the audience, followed by the Principal’s Annual Report highlighting the school’s key achievements. Chief Guest Mr. Eshwara Venkatesam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Ashoka University, addressed the gathering, urging students to embrace failure, resilience, and learning as the path to meaningful success.

He released our school magazine, The Tartan. Prize Winners from ICSE 2025 and Grade 9 (2024–25) were felicitated, and the event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the outgoing School Captain, a vibrant cultural programme featuring music, recitations, and choir performances, ending with the School Song and National Anthem.

28TH SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Venue: Classrooms, Corridors, Stilt Area, and Mark David Hall

The day was celebrated with enthusiasm, learning, and joyful participation across all sections of the school. The day began with a solemn Prayer Service and a meaningful address by the Principal, Mrs. Kotian, streamed live for the younger classes. Her inspiring message encouraged students to be courageous, consistent, and resilient, to resist peer pressure, and to believe in themselves.

Pre-primary:

Pre-primary students participated in a joyful blend of creative, scientific, and physical activities designed to spark curiosity and engagement.

Art Competition

Students across Jr and Sr KG expressed their creativity through vibrant artwork, strengthening fine motor skills, colour recognition, and imagination.

STEM Activities

  • Jr KG – Wind and Motion Experiment: Children blew through straws to move paper boats, learning how air (wind) creates force and causes movement.
  • Sr KG – Sink or Float Experiment: Children predicted and tested whether objects would sink or float, discovering how weight and density affect buoyancy.

Games & Movement Activities

  • Flower Power & Jump Jam: These fun, movement-based games promoted number awareness, gross motor coordination, focus, and teamwork.

Grades 1 & 2

The Prayer Service was live-streamed. Students took part in a colouring competition and:

  • Grade 1: Explored the water cycle through a hands-on experiment with cotton, glasses, and blue food colouring.
  • Grade 2: Continued with art and hands-on classroom activities.

The day ended with the distribution of treats, leaving students delighted.

Grades 3 to 5 – Classrooms

Grade 5 students joined the Marathon. All grades participated in an Art Competition.

Grades 3 and 4 also enjoyed board games and the documentary One Planet – Our Planet. STEM activities included:

  • Grade 3: Magic Milk experiment on surface tension.
  • Grade 4: Built self-watering systems to understand capillary action.
  • Grade 5: Conducted a pH paper test on skincare products to explore acidity and alkalinity. 58 students participated in the school marathon.

The day concluded with the distribution of treats, leaving the children with smiles and sweet memories of a fun-filled and enriching day.

Grades 6 to 8

A total of 258 students participated in the Marathon, while others engaged in classroom quizzes. All students took part in the Intra-class Art Competition and then enjoyed STEM activities, followed by educational documentaries.

  • Grade 6: Built popsicle stick catapults and watched The Most Unbelievable Wonders of the Amazon Rainforest.
  • Grade 7: Created slingshot cars using straws, rubber bands, and sticks, learning energy transformation. They viewed Most Dangerous Ways to School – Himalayas (Leh).
  • Grade 8: Designed trickle drip irrigation systems and watched Minimalism, a documentary on meaningful living with less.

Grades 9 & 10

  • 192 students ran the Marathon.
  • Non-participants created a commemorative video.
  • An Inter-house Poster Making Competition was held.
  • Friendly volleyball and throwball matches were played.
  • The Inter-house Triathlon, comprising swimming, cycling, and running events, was conducted successfully. Blue House secured First place.

At the Rainbow Station, they experimented with prisms, mirrors, and flashlights, played a rainbow colour game, and created vibrant crafts like handprint art and origami umbrellas. The experience enriched their understanding of the water cycle, enhancing fine motor skills and sparking curiosity.
Grade 2 Water Is Life Students participated in a fun-filled science day focused on water conservation. A video session introduced the water cycle and sources of water, followed by hands-on activities using working models of wells and hand pumps. The highlight was a groundwater simulation experiment using sand, gravel, and water. The event combined scientific discovery with environmental awareness, inspiring students to become mindful water stewards.
Grade 3 Mathematics – Nature Patterns: Art Meets Maths Students explored the connection between nature, mathematics, and creativity through pattern-making. Using leaves, twigs, petals, and pebbles, they created spiral, symmetrical, and repeating patterns. This hands-on, interdisciplinary activity made math concepts tangible while inspiring artistic expression through the wonders of nature.
Grade 4 Mathematics – Fraction Pizza Students created their pizzas, dividing them into equal parts and choosing toppings to represent specific fractions. This hands-on, visual approach made abstract concepts concrete, helping students understand fractions through real-life application. 2 28.03.2025 Training Of Support Staff K–10 In-house The support staff was trained in basic English speaking skills with the help of PPT and interactive games by the H&H Club students.
3 20.06.2025 Marathon 9-10 In-house Students ran a marathon to celebrate the school's anniversary. Funds raised were donated for the treatment of cancer patients.
4 June 2025 Sale of Potted Plants during PTM Parents and Staff Money was raised for pediatric cancer care from the sale of pots and plants.
Note: A total of ₹3.14 lakh was raised through the marathon, newspaper donation drive, and the sale of potted plants and donated to the Tata Cancer Institute for Children.
5 July 2025 School Bag Donation Drive K–10 Hamleys A total of 87 bags were collected from students and donated to Hamleys.
6 July Clothes Donation Drive Staff only Peniel New Life Mission & Navjeevan Special Home. A total of 70 dresses, 45 sarees, 30 shirts, 2 pants, and 14 ladies' tops were collected..

Students embarked on a four-day adventure trip to Bhilar, organised by Youreka. With 95 students and 5 teachers, the camp offered activities like rope courses, rappelling, jumar climbing, and outdoor survival skills. These fostered confidence, teamwork, and resilience. The trip became a digital detox, free from mobile phones, which encouraged bonding and appreciation for nature. Comfortable accommodation and wholesome meals added to the enriching experience, leaving lasting lessons on self-reliance and gratitude.

An evacuation drill was conducted with a total of 1,259 individuals safely evacuated in 15 minutes. Students evacuated in an orderly manner, guided by designated staff through specified staircases to assembly points. Observations highlighted the need for better speaker checks, quicker movement strategies, and emergency readiness resources such as stretchers and water. Recommendations also included coordination with nearby buildings for future emergencies.

The event commenced with the song May the Good Lord Bless Them, followed by a Bible reading, responsive prayer, and Benediction. Grade 10 Valedictorians, Rian Sangam, Rhea Gupta and Celeste Ditto Nadar, expressed gratitude to the school, the Principal Ms J. Kotian, the teaching staff and the support staff. Students brought iconic works to life, including selections from Matilda, Annie, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, Pitch Perfect, High School Musical, Mamma Mia!, and The Greatest Showman. With a blend of choir, live solo performances, and dramatic flair, all delivered in true Broadway style, the concert celebrated creativity, cultural appreciation, and community spirit, leaving the audience deeply inspired by the transformative power of the arts.

SLUMBER PARTY

The Slumber Party was a delightful and fun-filled event for children. The little ones arrived in their cosy nightwear, carrying their favourite soft toys, and were warmly greeted with badge stickers. Each grade experienced a series of engaging activities such as aiming balls into cups, scooping cotton balls, ringing trees, hair braiding, and bouncing in a bouncy castle. Themed tents offered creative corners like ‘Let’s Scoop It’, art stations, and the lively ‘He He Ho Ho’ command game.

Adding to the excitement, the children enjoyed a short film screening with delicious popcorn and later danced their hearts out during lively music sessions. The event concluded with refreshments, where every child left with a juice, cake, and a treasure trove of happy memories. The Christmas-themed slumber party truly brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments to all!

FIRELESS COOKING

Students participated in delightful fireless cooking activities, fostering creativity and promoting healthy eating.

Jr. Kg: The little ones prepared a quick and healthy snack by bringing ingredients such as fox nuts, cornflakes, dry fruits, peanuts, and salted boondi, assigned according to their roll numbers. These were combined in a large bowl with a sprinkle of spices to enhance the flavour. The children relished their delicious and nutritious creations, learning about the importance of healthy eating through this hands-on and enjoyable experience.

Sr. Kg: Embracing the festive spirit, the children participated in a Christmas-themed cooking activity. Each child brought a Parle-G biscuit, which was transformed into a delightful Christmas tree cookie using hot chocolate as the base. Students enthusiastically decorated their cookies with chocolate chips, gems, and sprinkles, showcasing their creativity and fine motor skills. The session ended with happy smiles as the children savoured their festive treats.

Both activities were a perfect blend of fun, learning, and teamwork, leaving the children with valuable lessons and cherished memories.

The subsequent day commenced with a poignant visit to a Home for the Aging Blind, where students extended their generosity by purchasing merchandise and offering donations to support the residents. Next, they visited the wax museum, eagerly posing beside lifelike replicas of renowned personalities. The tour concluded on a sweet note with a visit to Mapro Garden, leaving a lasting impression on the students

The programme aimed to promote reading and expose interns to entrepreneurship and marketing. The interns—Param Naik, Ranit Senthilnathan, Jolene Kotian, Aditi Suresh, Rebecca Stalin, Shivank Tandon, Venzil Lasrado, Trisha Sain, Shaurya Agarwal, and Avika Gutgutia of Grade 10—engaged peers through various reading activities, fostering increased participation and developing skills in collaboration, communication, and marketing.

The programme began with an introduction by Mr. T.V. Madhu, and the interns named their company ‘Booknook’ with the slogan ‘Page by page, we explore and engage’. Activities for Kindergarten to Grade 8, including storytelling, crafts, and quizzes, enhanced student engagement. Interns also tracked book sales, reflecting the success of their initiatives.

The programme concluded with final presentations and internship certificates, equipping the interns with valuable skills while fostering a love for reading across grades.

the annual christmas concert 2023

This year the Annual Christmas Concert not only showcased remarkable performances but also served as a platform to emphasize and celebrate fundamental ideals that constitute the bedrock of human existence.

The event commenced with an invocation and a warm welcome address by Ms Selvaraj, the Senior Academic Coordinator, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere. The programme featured diverse performances, including the lively segment ‘Anna's Christmas Overture’ by Grade 1 and a soulful rendition titled ‘A Celestial Noel’ comprising a Latin hymn ‘Santus’ followed by the divine ‘O Holy Night’ by the school choir. The presence of the Committee of Management and distinguished guests added prestige to the occasion.

The overarching theme of the concert, ‘We, The People: A Chronicle of Shared Vision’, ingeniously highlighted values such as democracy, liberty, fraternity, equality, secularism, justice and others that are pivotal in shaping a just and inclusive society. Throughout the programme, these ideals were intricately woven into the performances in the form of dances, dance dramas and choral recitation, creating a narrative that resonated with the audience. The final performance by Grade 10 students, showcasing a joyful India, was not merely an artistic expression but also a reflection of the core values that bind communities together.

Ms. Kotian, the Principal, further amplified the significance of these ideals in her thought-provoking address. By eloquently hailing the Indian Constitution and its visionary principles of democracy, liberty, fraternity, justice, equality, and secularism, she underscored the importance of these values in guiding human progress. Her speech likely served as a call to embrace and uphold these ideals in our daily lives, fostering a sense of responsibility and collective commitment.

The concert with its dual focus on both festive celebration and thematic depth, left a lasting impression on the attendees. Beyond being an entertaining showcase of talent and culture, the event became a powerful reminder of the shared values that bind us together and the importance of actively preserving and promoting these ideals for a better, more harmonious future.

The Senior Athletic Meet featured Captain Ranvijay Singh, Indian Navy, as Chief Guest. He emphasized discipline and hard work. Student achievers handed the torch to the chief guest who lit the Scottish cauldron. The March Past, PT display, and pyramid formations showcased skills. Races, including a relay and tug of war, engaged all. The prize distribution celebrated winners.

Students actively participated in races, and the day ended with a note of gratitude from Arella Angre.

Our Principal, Ms. J Kotian officially inaugurated the Sports Meet and addressed the parents and grandparents. A captivating drill, performed with white gloves to the beats of the famous number 'Bones,' followed the opening ceremony. The flat races and theme races for each class were meticulously planned to ensure that every child enjoyed them while the audience watched and cheered them on. Grandparents actively participated in the specially organized races and thoroughly relished the experience. The event concluded with a gracious vote of thanks by Elro of Grade 1.

Dr. Sahu covered menstruation in a session for girls, discussing bodily changes, health practices, and myths. Emphasis was placed on cervical cancer prevention through vaccination for parents. He discussed adolescent health, obesity causes, and nutrition, providing practical tips and guidance for parents. This workshop helped equip students and parents with valuable knowledge to navigate these transformative phases with confidence and informed decision-making.
